The variables considered for this indicator are SR_SPLMTL_SBSTNC_USE_1_CD, SR_SPLMTL_SBSTNC_USE_2_CD, SR_SPLMTL_SBSTNC_USE_3_CD, and SR_SPLMTL_SBSTNC_USE_4_CD. This field is “1” if any of the four substance use questions was positive for the need (value of 1 = Once or twice, 2 = Monthly, 3 = Weekly, or 4 = Daily or almost daily).
